Offline household memory

Return memory

Record full or partial returns, missing lids, damaged containers, and notes such as lent with soup or returned stained.

Due today Overdue No due date

Basic flow

Made for the real moment when food leaves in someone else’s container.

The app is not a warehouse system or a task manager. It is a quick personal record for household items shared with familiar people.

01

Add people

Create simple person records for friends, relatives, neighbors, or colleagues.

02

Add items

Save templates such as glass container, large bowl, soup jar, tray, lid, cup, or bottle.

03

Log a loan

Pick the person, item, quantity, date, expected return window, and a short household note.

04

Log returns

Record complete or partial returns with condition notes and missing-parts notes.

Open Loans

One working list for everything still outside the house.

Open Loans shows person, item, quantity, lent date, status, return progress, due badge, and quick actions such as Log return, Edit, Mark lost, or Archive.

Q

Quick lend

A fast form for the common moment: choose a person, choose an item, set quantity, date, due window, and note.

R

Partial return support

ReturnEntry records keep each return separate while the loan recalculates quantity returned, last return date, and status.

S

Snapshots protect history

Loan records store the person and item names as they were at lending time, so old history stays readable after renames.

People and items

A household catalog, not an address book or inventory app.

People and Items stay simple, with current open counts, return history, commonly borrowed items, and practical notes.

P

People

Track names, relationship labels, notes, archive state, and current open item counts.

I

Item templates

Save types like jars, plates, bowls, cups, lids, trays, bottles, and containers with default quantities.

H

History

Finished loans and returns remain available even when people or item templates are archived.

Analytics

Simple answers about what goes out, what comes back, and what gets delayed.

Analytics stay practical and honest. If there is not enough history, the app shows Not enough history yet instead of inventing conclusions.

A

Average return time

Calculated from fully returned loans using the days between lentAt and lastReturnAt.

D

Most delayed people

Ranks overdue patterns only when due dates exist in the lending records.

L

Loss and damage

Counts lost records and simple problem words such as lid, cracked, stained, and missing.

O

Open load by person

Shows the current count of open items each person is holding.

M

Most borrowed items

Ranks item templates by the total quantities lent during the selected analytics window.

W

Return rhythm

Groups returned quantities by calendar week to show how returns happen over time.

Offline structure

Local records for a lightweight kitchen memory.

Borrow Bowl is designed as an offline SwiftUI utility. It stores people, item templates, loan records, return entries, and settings locally with UserDefaults and Codable. Optional item or loan photos stay in the app sandbox as file paths.
